More from our travels this week and, as the summer conventioning season is in full swing, this time we have some things to tell you from our trip to Kitacon!
This week we extend our thanks and appreciation to the Kitacon Committee who put on a fantastic convention at their new venue of Warwick University.
Kita comes right off the back of Tokonatsu so we didn’t have time for con-comedown. Instead bags were packed, cameras prepped, and cash counted ready for a big weekend.
Thanks to the packed schedule, the hardest part of Kitacon was deciding between which event to attend and which would have to be missed. Without a doubt though, the unmissable events of Kitacon are the parties.
This year’s parties were some of the best we’ve had; the light show made our president green with envy, or maybe that was just the light, you decide:
We saw some phenomenal cosplays, entertaining panels, and amazing parties.
Kitacon were kind enough to let us advertise Hibanacon over the weekend. It was great to meet so many of you who share our enthusiasm for an end-of-year convention and want to join us to party out the year.
At the closing ceremony we had a few minutes to speak directly to the Kitcon crowd and properly introduce ourselves. It’s been a long time since we were last on stage and the nerves were showing in the dressing room, but the warmth and enthusiasm with which we were greeted made them melt away. Thank you all for your support, it really made those 4 minutes fly by.
Keep an eye out for more updates coming from us, there’s some great stuff lining up for Hibanacon and we’re going to let you know about it soon!
